A Successful Fall for Envision Sammamish 2044!

City staff member, Chris Hankins, at the Build Sammamish Block Party Booth

This fall, the City held two Comprehensive Plan Update events: The Sammamish Block Party on September 30, 2023, and the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Goals and Policies Workshop on October 21, 2023.

The Block Party was a fun, family-friendly community event designed to inform the community on what topics and issues will be addressed during the update process. The event was held in the gymnasium at the Central Washington University – Sammamish Campus and featured activities, games, food trucks, and more. It included interactive booths to teach the community about each of the Comprehensive Plan’s chapters. The event was a big success and attracted roughly 350 community members. We want to give a big thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a success!

The 2024 Comprehensive Plan Goals and Policies Workshop brought together the City Council, Planning Commission, and members of the Arts, Parks, and Human Services Commissions to provide high-level direction on how the Comprehensive Plan’s goals and policies should be updated during this update. The all-day workshop was structured to allow for group conversations around each of the Comprehensive Plan’s planning topics to ensure a thorough review. Staff captured and summarized the feedback heard during the event, which can be found here.

We had a very productive fall and would like to thank everyone who provided input and participated! Stay tuned, as there is a lot coming in 2024 and plenty of opportunities to provide your feedback.
