On April 22, 2023, Envision Sammamish 2044 celebrated Earth Day with the community at the Beaver Lake Lodge at the annual Sammamish Earth Day, hosted by the City of Sammamish Parks Department.
The event featured crafts, activities, informational booths, prizes, food trucks, performances, petting zoo, bug/reptile interactive booth and much more. The team from Envision Sammamish 2044 was there to help spread the word about the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update and get community feedback on a selection of proposed strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to be included in the Climate Action Plan. Visitors to the booth filled out a leaf where they shared their top priorities.
At the end of the event, there were a total of 130 leaves filled out by folks from across the community and all age ranges. The following tallies show the responses for each option:
